Denver’s THE FLUID seven-song cassette from July 1987

27 Sep

Garrett Shavlik, drummer for The Fluid, sent this cassette to me fall of 1987. I had just reviewed their first album Punch & Judy in local Minnesota fanzine Retro Aggro. Some friends of mine & I once followed the band to Chicago’s Club Dreamerz (remember that place?), so we saw them two nights in a row- at The Uptown Bar in Minneapolis & the next night in Chi-town. Another memorable show by The Fluid was at The 7th Street Entry with the band Cub. Fred Case says that a couple of the guys in The Fluid are now in The Buckingham Squares, and they kick ass! Look ’em up on Facebook & check them out if you ever go to Denver. Here’s a few of the songs that didn’t make it onto the Sub Pop albums. Thanks to Rick Kulwicki (via Fred Case) for granting me permission to put this up.
